Ex-GUNS N' ROSES, JANE'S ADDICTION, ROLLING STONES Guitarists Join Forces In Supergroup
September 5, 2002Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash, JANE'S ADDICTION six-stringer Dave Navarro, and ex-ROLLING STONES axe-slinger Mick Taylor have formed a "supergroup" — so they can pay tribute to legend JIMI HENDRIX. The new band, which hasn't yet been named, will perform a one-off tribute show to the guitar hero at San Diego, California's weekend music festival Street Scene this coming weekend. Additional dates are planned during the coming weeks.
In related news, Slash is tentatively scheduled to join former GN'R bandmates Duff McKagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums) during a special September 11th performance by McKagan's band LOADED at the Viper Room in West Hollywood. All proceeds from the gig will go to the West Hollywood Emergency Fund.
